Warwick Society Award / by Katelyn Gettner

This first research trip has been an eye opening experience for me because it happens to have been the first research oriented traveling I have done up to this point. I received funding for my trip from a lovely family as well as from the President of my school through a series actions on my part involving light proposal writing, budgeting, and creating and presenting a physical portfolio to the members of the Warwick Society of Kansas City by showing a reflection of my past work and extrapolating on how I might further my work with funding.

The funding I received was for a ten day travel and research trip to Corning, New York to visit the Corning Museum of Glass and pursue their stacks of glass texts at the Rakow research library. What follows on this blog page is the documentation of my travels on this task and the information and inspiration gleamed through experiencing the museum and the locale.
